In all RAF magnetic compasses, the LUBBER LINE (needle indicating heading) is missing or should be fixed at specific place.

In Beaufighter, Spitfire and Hurricane it is missing.
In Wellington is is rotating with grid wires.

Same problem with missing LUBBER PIN exists in Blenheim (pilot position), Gladiator and TigerMoth.

LUBBER PIN is missing on compass in Blenheim at bombardier position too, but there is another mark that can be used to determine heading.

Example off usage of magnetic compass to synchronize gyro compass with magnetic compass is at time stamp: 7:08.
Pilot is aligned lines and read the value that lubber line pointing at (about 320 degrees). Then he entered pretty close value to gyro compass. Probably he applied variation and deviation to magnetic value to read navigation heading.
